Born Jamericans was a reggae/hip hop duo formed in Washington, D.C., popular in the 1990s. The group comprised Norman “Notch” Howell and Edley “Shine” Payne. Notch’s voice is smooth and melodic, while Shine’s is rougher and tends more toward toasting. Their debut album, Kids from Foreign, was released in 1994 on the hip hop label Delicious Vinyl, and following its success the group toured with Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, Zhane, and Shai, and toured Japan with Shinehead and Mad Lion. In 1996, they contributed the soundtrack to the film Kla$h. The duo’s second album, released in 1997, featured guest appearances from Mad Lion, Shinehead, and Johnny Osbourne. Both albums were chart successes in the United States.

I referenced the track for him as he had just written it and I just happened to be in the studio. I referenced it and he kept me on it, so, I guess he liked it!

The Jackson 5 were one of my favourite groups as a youth. I was just harping back to those days and sang a long a bit to the song and then my manager, Juliet Edwards heard it and said I should record it. By the time I had the first demo vocal I was driven and by the time I had finished, Dillie and Mafia and Fluxy and Stanley Andrews had built this amazing track and to top it all Adele Harley came through with amazing vocals. – Clinark

Adele Harley was born in the UK. She is an accomplished musician, playing various instruments as well as singing in a variety of bands. She is also nominated Best Female vocalist for a BRIA 2012. Not only is she a singer/songwriter in her own right, she has also toured the world as a session singer, singing and supporting acts such as Corrine Bailey Rae, Betty Wright and numerous others. Heavily influenced by Reggae/ and Lovers Rock as a teenager, it was inevitable she would hook up with local reggae artists and collaborations which lead to her working and debuting in 08 with producers Leroy Mafia & Dave Fluxy with the single ‘No One` Adele also sings on the R&B to Reggae/Strictly vocals compilations.
8-year-old Elsa Stevenson, narrator of the award winning documentary Where The Whales Sing produced by her father Andrew Stevenson (founder of the Humpback Whale Research Project, Bermuda) has her first encounter for an hour and a half with a female, calf and escort humpack whale.
At times they seemed more interested in her than vice versa. I am sure they recognised that she was a human ‘calf’. The mother repeatedly swam towards us within ten feet and less to look while her calf hid underneath. Elsa also used her own underwater camera to film two ‘dancers’ that danced around us, apparently more interested in wooing us than each other. This was her favourite experience.
For a year and a half she has been a member of a swim club and swum three times a week, one and a half hours per session, to become proficient enough at swimming that I would take her with me. In the end, she was like a squid, darting about here and there and with my 55-pound camera I was incapable of keeping up with her.
