The island has a population of a little over 65,000 but with an expanded World Cup in 2026, qualification for the tournament is not out of the question!
Bermuda, with a population of just over 65,000, will be the smallest nation outside of Oceania to ever compete in a senior men’s Confederation championship. That figure is smaller than combined capacities of the three stadiums it will play in during the group stage. Though the country has less than one-fifth the population of Iceland, Bermudan FA resident Mark Wade said he thinks the program can follow in Iceland’s footsteps and use the Gold Cup as a starting point for an eventual berth in the World Cup.

Bermuda To Host $3 Million @PGATOUR Event 2019-20

PGA TOUR professionals who don’t qualify for this year’s World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions event in China will have an appealing alternative: a trip to Bermuda.
The Bermuda Championship is a new addition to the 2019-20 PGA TOUR schedule, set for Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 at the Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, a Robert Trent Jones-designed layout that hosted the PGA Grand Slam for golf’s major champions from 2009 through 2014. I was a bit perplexed when the assignment first came through. A mountain biking shoot in Bermuda? Based as I am in the Rockies, I didn’t even know there were “mountains” in Bermuda (there’s not, really.) There are plenty of trails and more importantly a community of riders that is wildly enthusiastic about mountain biking, trail riding, and off-pavement adventures. The thought of getting to photograph bikers in an area that had probably never been shot for publication was also very enticing.

The Atlantic Rugby Cup 2017 at the Bermuda National Sports Centre will feature two matches, the URugby Collegiate All-Star Cup and the USA Islanders vs Saracens.
The event is promoted by URugby and Stephen Siano. URugby has developed strong ties with Bermuda Rugby and ran a Collegiate Spring Break Tournament in Bermuda, which will also return in 2018.
August 10, 5:30pm – Collegiate All-Star Rugby Cup Liberty Rugby Conference vs. Republic of Texas All-Stars
The Collegiate All-Star Rugby Cup match will feature two collegiate all-star teams from the USA. The Republic of Texas All-Stars coached by Rick Medina will take on Jerry Mirro and The Liberty Rugby Conference All-Stars.

August 10, 7:30pm – USA Islanders vs Saracens (London)
The USA Islanders are a band of brothers with island heritage including Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Hawaii and islands of the Caribbean. The Saracens (London) are simply one of the best professional rugby teams in the world and winners of the European Professional Club Rugby championship two years running.

Back in 2015 a friend put me in touch with a catamaran visiting the island with professional windsurfer Florian Jung. They were on a mission called the Aquapower Expedition to research plastic waste in the oceans and visit new places. While in Bermuda Florian and his professional photographer Pierre Bouras asked me if I could take them to some local spots for windsurfing and good photos.
Finding a good spot on that day wasn’t so easy but in the end we settled on Horseshoe beach as Pierre wanted shots with jagged volcanic shoreline in the foreground. It proved to be a tricky spot to sail with the many reefs, sloppy backwash and swirly wind off the cliff faces! I was sent out with a Garmin head camera to try and get on the water footage, which wasn’t the easiest when trying to keep up in such sloppy conditions!
In the end Pierre got his shots and it was nice for me to learn a bit about their expedition and life as a professional windsurfer.

The 2017 America’s Cup was held on the Great Sound in Bermuda. It was the 35th edition of the America’s Cup yacht race contested between the Challenger Emirates Team New Zealand (winner of the 2017 Louis Vuitton Cup) and the Defender Oracle Team USA (winner of the 2013 America’s Cup)
Emirates Team New Zealand won the America’s Cup by a score of 7 to 1 and will defend the Auld Mug in the 36th America’s Cup. It was Oracle’s second defense of the Cup, four years after its first successful defense.
The races were conducted using hydrofoiling AC50 America’s Cup Class yachts, which are slightly larger than the AC45F yachts used in the World Series. read more @ wikipedia
