Francesco Bruni K.O. @Bermuda

In 2011 Italian Francesco Bruni was matched against Frenchman Mathieu Richard in the quarterfinals of the Argo Group Gold Cup.

It was a tense 1-1 when during the third race Bruni was knocked clean out of the boat by the boom!

Impressively, he went on to win that match taking it to 2-1! He continued onto the Semi Finals before getting knocked out by Swede Johnie Berntsson.

Remembering Toriano Wilson – #26 Rookies Cup Rider

In memory of Toriano Wilson The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club (BMRC), on the eve of his birthday (Feb 26, 1994), has shared the tribute video Remembering Toriano Wilson.

The fourteen-year-old ‘golden child’ of Bermuda Motor Racing and #26 Rookies Cup Rider was involved in a high-speed, three-way crash on turn six of lap one at the Virginia International Raceway (VIR) on Sunday, August 17, 2008 during a Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup series race. He was airlifted to the UNC Hospital in North Carolina by helicopter but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Toriano Wilson #26 Memorial

Toriano was always full of good energy and fun, but when it came time to get ready to race, he was ready and focused. He was a practical joker at heart. I certainly wasn’t immune to Toriano’s joking. He got me good a few times! Toriano was a great kid and a hard rider. As the season progressed, he harnessed his riding style and started garnering some really good results. On any given day, it could be the #26 bike at the front. He was that talented.Toriano will be missed.  – Kevin Schwantz Red Bull AMA U.S. Rookies Cup Rider Coach

Bradford City FC – League Cup Final preps @wembleystadium

Feb 23, 2013. Bradford City’s players visit Wembley ahead of their League Cup final match against Swansea City.

The squad looked around the pitch and took photos of the stadium.

Bradford have beaten several Premier League teams to reach Sunday’s final, including Arsenal in the quarter-finals and Aston Villa over two legs in the semi-final.

They are the first fourth-tier team to reach the League Cup final since the 1960s.

Bermuda’s own Nahki Wells, with his appearance in the 2013 Football League Cup Final,  will become the first player from Bermuda to appear in an English major cup final.

League Cup final 2013: Bradford striker Nahki Wells targeting path to Premier League and ‘greatness’

There is a refreshing charm to Nahki Wells. Bradford City’s Bermudan forward speaks wistfully of being “destined for greatness” and wanting to play alongside Wayne Rooney before admitting a more prosaic dream: matching the achievements of Shaun Goater. read full article

Nahki Wells – Bradford City 3 vs Aston Villa 1 (Capital One Cup Semi-Finals)

08/01/13

After humbling Premier League giants Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup, underdogs and League Two football club Bradford City Bantams are one step closer to a Wembley final after beating Premier League opponents Aston Villa 3-1 in the first leg of the semi-final.

The Bantam’s number 21 and leading scorer Nahki Wells opened the scoring in the 19th minute from inside the penalty area after finding himself all alone with the ball at his feet. He kept his head and coolly knocked the ball passed the onrushing Villa keeper!

Nahki would have actually been in an offside position without the Aston Villa defender deflecting the ball. (possibly also a handball infraction on the part of the defender)
