@Chewsticks #Bermuda Music Videos

Music Videos used to be the stuff of legend; a privilege reserved purely for top shelf artists that are generating so much revenue from their record sales that they can splurge on a video of their music, not only for the promotional purposes that videos provide but also for the opportunity to visually depict the music they are creating. I remember like it was yesterday when everyone held their breath around the world for the unveiling of “BAD” by Michael Jackson on network TV. It seemed like everyone was watching this rapidly expanding, opulent medium. Music videos were excess and exclusively for the best of the best, who routinely built up the prestige around the genre by increasingly getting more technical, Hollywood directors, huge budgets, elite models, actors etc. making it nigh impossible for normal folk and artists to ever entertain making a music video for real. Until now .. Gavin Djata Smith

Ital Foundation Vol.1 LP / EDMAR

Ital Foundation came together in the winter of 1977, out of a shared belief in Rastafarianism and deep love of reggae music. Their music; an inspired fusion of self proclaimed, “space age reggae” with that of a truly classic Bermudian sound, tackles global issues of colonialism, poverty, prophecy and redemption.

They released only one album in their legendary career, the 1980 release, ‘Ital Foundations Vol 1’. A tumultous history rought with trial and tribulation resulted in Ital being an underground musical movement that saw record sales all over the world while the band languished in obscurity and turmoil.For the first time in decades Ital Foundation has reunited, with several of the original band members combined with new blood to take the sound to the next level. Ital is preparing to come back and claim their throne as kings of Reggae music. The group is currently working on their second CD, ‘Ital Foundation Volume II’ as well as a live album recorded in their birth place, now home to The Chewstick Foundation.

Eldon – Good People @Eldonwjr

Eldon Raynor is a singer/songwriter who made his name on the island of Bermuda in the 80’s & 90’s with successful bands Youth Creation and Jahstice where Reggae singer Clinark also was a member.

Eldon felt inspired to record this song ‘Good People’ after he was unsuccessful  getting through the second round X Factor auditions at the 02 arena in London. Clinark was recording his new single ‘Babylon City‘ with John Webber at Blue Pro Studios when Eldon joined him.

Eldon says ‘I had been carrying around songs with me for several years and this song ‘ Good People’ seemed to suit the moment. I decided to sign up to Clinark’s ‘ Nurture Projects‘ Label and he took me through the whole process. Within a week or so I had the track built at Stingray Big House Studio’s in London by Mafia & Fluxy and Stanley Andrew on guitar. I was back with John at Blue Pro studio with this song. It was amazing and I hope you all love it too’.

Single: ‘Good People”’ available on digital download @ http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/eldon and iTunes and more,.
