The Bermuda Department of Tourism’s $4.8 million advertising campaign was unveiled at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel on August 16, 2012 with the “So Much More” music video featuring Bermuda’s own internationally renown reggae star Collie Buddz and up and coming R&B vocal phenomenon Twanée as the highlight of the evening!
The 2012 calypso/pop remix by Bermuda internationally renown reggae star Collie Buddz and up and coming R&B artist Twanée presented here is nothing shy of a GREAT THEME SONG for the BDOT 2012 Tourism campaign!

Bermuda’s New Pitch Is Short: ‘So Much More’
A popular vacation destination is trying again to encourage tourists to expect the unexpected, as well as all that visitors have traditionally traveled there for.
The goal is explicit in the theme of a campaign on behalf of the Bermuda Department of Tourism: “So much more.” The campaign, now under way, plays up cultural and culinary attractions and diversions like scuba diving and golf along with mainstays like the pink sand beaches and Bermuda’s proximity to the East Coast. Second “Summer in Paradise” video by a group of young kids aged from 14 to 17 just having fun in Bermuda, cliff jumping, boating, wake boarding & more.
Their video from last summer (which used Simple Plan’s hit song – Summer Paradise) went viral and at this time has almost 400,000 views.

Last year’s overall winners Bobby DeCosta and Chris Wells in their D Class boat round the curve and side-slam into one of the Ferry Reach pylons before entering into the home stretch of the race. Luckily they were able to immediately regain control and avoid running aground!
Nonetheless the extensive damages sustained to the boat’s flank the pair finished 3rd place with a time of 43:40

Historically, Emancipation celebrations have been centered around the Annual Cup Match Cricket Classic event, beginning on Thursday and ending on Friday. Cup Match is a two-day holiday dedicated to Bermudian Cricket. The whole of Bermuda grinds to a complete halt for two days every summer in August to turn its attention to the much anticipated cricket game between the Somerset Cricket Club in the west end and the St. George’s Cricket Club in the east end.

Music Videos used to be the stuff of legend; a privilege reserved purely for top shelf artists that are generating so much revenue from their record sales that they can splurge on a video of their music, not only for the promotional purposes that videos provide but also for the opportunity to visually depict the music they are creating. I remember like it was yesterday when everyone held their breath around the world for the unveiling of “BAD” by Michael Jackson on network TV. It seemed like everyone was watching this rapidly expanding, opulent medium. Music videos were excess and exclusively for the best of the best, who routinely built up the prestige around the genre by increasingly getting more technical, Hollywood directors, huge budgets, elite models, actors etc. making it nigh impossible for normal folk and artists to ever entertain making a music video for real. Ital Foundation came together in the winter of 1977, out of a shared belief in Rastafarianism and deep love of reggae music. Their music; an inspired fusion of self proclaimed, “space age reggae” with that of a truly classic Bermudian sound, tackles global issues of colonialism, poverty, prophecy and redemption.
They released only one album in their legendary career, the 1980 release, ‘Ital Foundations Vol 1’. A tumultous history rought with trial and tribulation resulted in Ital being an underground musical movement that saw record sales all over the world while the band languished in obscurity and turmoil.For the first time in decades Ital Foundation has reunited, with several of the original band members combined with new blood to take the sound to the next level. Ital is preparing to come back and claim their throne as kings of Reggae music. The group is currently working on their second CD, ‘Ital Foundation Volume II’ as well as a live album recorded in their birth place, now home to The Chewstick Foundation.
